Clara Green is a 13-year-old girl with a passion for reading and writing. She began reading in Kindergarten and hasn't stopped since. As Clara grew older, her love for reading continued to grow. She would spend hours reading books of different genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.

At the age of 11, Clara started writing her first book, When Do Birds Fly? She was inspired by the stories she had read and wanted to create her own world filled with the characters she envisioned. Clara began writing the book, put it down for a few months, and picked it up again. Despite her young age, after finishing the book, she told her parents that she wanted to try to get it published. They agreed to allow her to submit it — little did they know it would come to fruition.

Clara believes anything is possible if you work hard and never give up. She is very thankful for Mrs. Foster and Miss Moszczyc, who taught her how to read, and Miss Mary at Diane’s Bookstore of Greenwich for her endless book recommendations. They lit Clara’s creative spark so she could be open to ideas and other worlds.

Clara lives near Denver, Colorado, with her parents, older brother and sister, and her dog, Nugget.
